Kartik Amarnath, MS

Kartik Amarnath is a current MD and MPH candidate at SUNY Downstate. He was formerly Energy Planner for the NYC Environmental Justice Alliance, where he worked on energy policies and programs serving frontline communities. He has worked with the CDC, Democracy Now!, C40, the Tishman Environment and Design Center, and as a Fulbright student researcher. Born in Indianapolis, he was raised in four countries and is of Sri Lankan Tamil and Indo-Malaysian descent. He received a B.A. in Biology with Anthropology and Philosophy minors from DePauw University and a M.S. in Design and Urban Ecologies from The New School.
