Mustafa Saifuddin, PhD
Mustafa Saifuddin is a Staff Scientist with the Sustainable Food and Farming Program at Earthjustice in New York, focusing on the intersection of climate change and agriculture. Mustafa grew up in Houston and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2013 with degrees in Biology and Humanities. They completed a PhD in Biology in 2018 from Boston University, where they researched and published on soil microbial biogeochemistry and carbon and nitrogen cycling in forest ecosystems. While in graduate school, Mustafa was an NSF graduate research fellow and also enjoyed teaching ecology and biology courses. Prior to joining Earthjustice, they worked as an agricultural soil scientist in the Bay Area.
